You can get information about the selection with the ``get selection information'' (ax=12) function. With the ``set selection information'' function (ax=13), some selection information can be set. Set the selection itself with the ``change selection'' function (ax=6). The ``insert character'' (ax=8), ``insert string'' (ax=11), ``delete selection'' (ax=9), and ``search for string'' (ax=24) functions all change the selection as well.
